Sigiriya Day 1 & Day 2 – Elephant Corridor
Sigiriya (Lions Rock) is an ancient rock fortress and palace ruin located in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka that has been regarded as a UNESCO world heritage site. The ancient fortress is surrounded by remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs and other structures. Sigiriya is well known for the ancient paintings (frescos) that adorn the inner walls as well as a perfect display of Sri Lanka’s superior architectural and technological prowess. Your stay in Sigiriya will be at the Elephant Corridor Hotel, a luxurious boutique hotel that captures the essence of the nature, history and wildlife of the area. It will not be surprising for guests to see elephants walking through the premises walking up to the hotel lobby entrance and beautiful wind peacocks roaming the exquisitely landscaped gardens.
